Peterborough Head of the Nene 2020

Event Date: Saturday 01st February 2020 - Saturday 01st February 2020

Peterborough Head of the Nene offers 3 divisions of racing, with events over the long (5,000 metre) and short (2,500 metre) courses.

Unlike other events at Peterborough, the Head of the Nene is run from The Embankment near the City Centre rather than the Club.  This allows us to boat more crews at once and gives crews a shorter row to the start (you lucky things you!).

Notice: Friday 31st January

The Organising Committee continue to monitor the forecast and current water conditions. Currently the river conditions are good and the expectation is that the flow rate will remain acceptable. The forecast for Saturday is similar to that of today. Today’s conditions on the river are flat water with a brisk head wind, this should be similar for tomorrow.

However, given that wind speeds are due to increase slightly & the unpredictability of gusts we would ask that you note point six of the Safety section in the Safety Instructions published & sent out with the draw: ‘Deciding whether or not they are competent to use the water course in the prevailing weather conditions; this decision may be taken by the individual or with their coach/crew.’.

We do still reserve the right to cancellation of the competition or individual events should the forecast or conditions change, any changes will be publicised immediately via the website & our social media channels (Facebook and Twitter).
