Do you have what it takes to inspire others to excel?

Becoming a coach is not just about coaching rowing; it’s about inspiring rowers to excel and providing a rewarding experience of the sport.

Maybe you are a former rower or someone who loves to teach. Perhaps you are passionate about rowing and would like to develop the sport further or perhaps you are new to coaching and want to give it a try. Either way, we’d love to hear from you at Peterborough City Rowing Club.

Our team of voluntary coaches are very active at all levels from running Learn to Row courses right through to coaching crews who are destined to compete at Henley Royal Regatta.

But while the coaching sessions are very much focussed on the aspirations of the athletes, we also look after our coaches by running regular sessions to share best practice and coaching tips amongst the wider coaching team. Peterborough City Rowing Club also runs a coaching bursary scheme which subsides the cost of British Rowing qualifications to ensure that our coaches at all levels are able to progress in their coaching career. Further details on the bursary scheme and an application form can be downloaded here.

So, if you are someone who would like to support PCRC with coaching the occasional session, delivering a taster day, or coaching on a Learn to Row course you could take your first step into coaching by completing the British Rowing Session Coach qualification. Alternatively, if you if you want to support rowers through skill based sessions then perhaps the British Rowing Club Coach qualification is the one for you. PCRC will support you every step of the way in your coaching career and all we ask in return is that you use your skills to help our athletes excel.

Quite simply if you want to coach rowing, at any level, even if you just want to help out on an ad hoc basis, then PCRC is the place to be….
