The event took place over 1500 metres at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham, where the fastest junior crews from all over the country took part, with the 6 fastest crews progressing to the A finals.
The Women’s J15 double of Emma Dennis and Evelina Xanthopoulou did extremely well to place 4th overall in the time trials with a time of 7:01, just 3 seconds behind the fastest crew.
They then went on to place 4th overall in the A final, just 2 seconds behind bronze medal position.
Young sculler Jasmin Chesher also did exceptionally well to reach the A final of the Womens J14 single event, after placing 6th overall in the time trial, and then 6th place in the final.
A few Peterborough crews also raced at Leicester regatta at the weekend and came away with 4 wins.
Bianca Manganiello and Sarah Watson came away with 2 wins, after winning the Women’s band 1 double against De Monfort University boat club and then joined Keely Watson and Gina Gould to win the Womens band 1 Coxless quad.
They went through 2 heat rounds in the quad to then win the final against Lincoln Rowing Centre.
Debbie Hunt-Pain and Julie Evison-Williams won the Masters D doubles event against fellow club members Emma Coxall and Susan Genever-Jones, in a close final where there were just a boat length ahead.
The final win came from Ian Palmer and Dave Smith (Leicester rowing club) who won the Masters D doubles final comfortably against Hollingworth lake rowing club.
