Kate’s Challenge 2023

We did it! 100k! Very tired but also very happy!

On the Sat 13th May 2023, Kate Lindgren (aka “The Blind Sculler”), supported by her coach Pete Forrest completed a challenge of a lifetime by rowing 100km.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined in and supported us as we could not have done it without you. We were so grateful for all the visits from friends & family who took time to cheer us on.  Thanks to everyone for their support and donations.  So far, we have raised close to £4,000 which will go to buy some much needed equipment, which can be used by all members, but also has facilities to make rowing accessible to adaptive rowers.

We were very encouraged by the number of members who joined us on the river, the lake and rowed alongside us during our Ergo sessions; thank you.   A very special thanks to all those who organised and baked the cakes and manned the BBQ and the Bar.  Thanks, also to all the technical and logistics support from Anneli and her friends.  And finally, it was brave of our President and Chairman to join us in a quad to help us over the finish line, thanks to Peter and John.

See you on the water soon.

Kate & Pete.
