
ST IVES — Peterborough City Rowing Club enjoyed a highly successful day on the water on Saturday with the clubs women’s squads securing 4 wins across multiple age categories at the annual St Ives Regatta.
In the sweep rowing events, the club found success in the Women’s Masters F Coxed Fours (WMasF4+). Andy Merchant, Denise Parker, Julie Evison-Williams and Kate Crosby rowed a superb race to take the win, expertly steered down the St Ives course by cox Ian Davis.
The club’s scullers kept the momentum going with a hat-trick of victories. Julie Evison-Williams secured her second trophy of the weekend, teaming up with Audrey Jones to win the Women’s Masters E Double Sculls (WMasE2x). Joan Heath and Anita Carter put on a masterclass in the Women’s Masters G Double Sculls (WMasG2x), comfortably outpacing their rivals. The golden run concluded in the senior category, where Hannah Pape and Keely Watson delivered a winning performance in the Women’s Double Sculls (W2x) to secure Peterborough’s fourth win.
