So you want to Learn to Row?
Peterborough City Rowing Club runs a number of Learn to Row courses throughout the year typically starting in April, June, August and October Each course takes place at our purpose built rowing lake on Thorpe Meadows and runs for eight, two-hour sessions.
Courses are open to anyone aged 16 and above and you will be learning with other novices so there is no need to feel that you might be the only one that can’t do it….you’ll all be in the same boat (not literally!) The Learn to Row course follows the British Rowing approved Learn to Row handbook and is designed to provide a structured route into the sport for adults which means that you will learn a lot during the eight weeks including; what to wear, safety (both on and off the water); and the correct rowing technique.
But don’t worry you will have plenty of fun along the way and because we aim to get you out on the water as much as possible in our fleet of stable boats, you will be learning new skills every week.
And did we mention – rowing is a friendly sport, so you’ll also be making new friends…some of whom will last a lifetime.
The only pre-requisite to taking part is a sense of humour……..if you fancy a go then click here to sign up for a course.
